Why Seamcult is free

Seamcult costs nothing in early access, and we want to be straight about why. 🌱

We have built CAD for the sewing industry for ten years, and we know how to make geometry work. What we don't know yet is who Seamcult is for in the age of AI agents: a home sewist with a photo of a dress, a small studio digitising a drawer of paper patterns, a factory that wants its agent to regrade a block to a new body. Each of them would use the tool differently, and each would be willing to pay for a different thing. 🤔

We could guess, put up a price list and find out in a year that we had guessed wrong. We would rather find out with you. So while we learn, Seamcult is free: every tool in the editor, any agent you connect, lay plans for the plotter, projects that stay until you delete them. No card, no trial clock. 🆓

In return we ask for the one thing we can't buy — your use of it. Draft things. Tell us what broke. Tell us what you wish it did and what you would never need. Show us the garment you sewed from a pattern an agent drew. 👗 All of it lives in our Discord, and all of it shapes what we build next. 🤝

We will have to earn money from Seamcult eventually — we would like to keep building it. When we understand how to do that in a way that is fair to the people who helped us make it useful, you will read about it here first, and well before anything changes. 💌

Until then: join the Cult, and let's make the most useful pattern tool we can, together. 🚣
